Once something only referred to in science fiction movies, today, wireless technology is all around us. And those companies offering successful products to cater for this market are doing very well. Two products that immediately spring to mind when thinking of wireless earbuds are the Jaybird Vista and the Beats Powerbeats Pro. And while both have made quite an impact, which one really is the better product?
Here you can read what both have to offer in terms of quality and functionally so that you’ll be able to make a more informed purchase when ready to do so.
Jaybird Vista
They may be one of smallest examples of wireless earbuds out there currently, but boy, are these things durable. Not only are theJaybird Vista’s fully waterproof, they’re also crush-proof, drop-proof, and sweat-proof. So, whether you want to use them while working out, walking, or just chilling out, these earbuds will just keep on going.
In terms of battery capacity, a full charge will give you 6 hours of audio. If you use the charging case you can get another 10, giving you 16 hours of total playtime before needing to re-charge (32 if just using 1 earphone), which is pretty impressive for a device of this size. Another really good feature these earbuds have to offer is the 5-minute quick charge function. This gives you 1 whole hour of audio after just 5 minutes of charging.
The Jaybird Vista earbuds have excellent sound quality and zero lag thanks to its state-of-the-art JBS1 wireless Bluetooth technology. They also come with three different size interchangeable ear gels and are really comfortable.
There are two great apps you get access to when you purchase Jaybird Vista Earbuds. The first is the Find Your Flow app. Through this app, you get unlimited EQ control over the earbuds’ 6mm drivers, allowing you to create your own custom audio experience. The other app is a little different and is called Find My Buds. This is simply an app to help you locate your earbuds when you’ve misplaced them.
Beats Powerbeats Pro
Sleek black and stealth like, the Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds are a tough contender for the Jaybird Vista’s. As with the Vista’s, these earbuds are pretty tough. They have a reinforced design which makes them both water and sweat resistant, so you don’t have to worry about using them while running or working out.
A fully charged pair of these earbuds will give you 9 hours of audio (24 with the charging case), which is slightly better than the Vista’s. One similarity it does share with its competitor in this department is the Powerbeats Pro are also equipped with a 5-minute fast charge feature. But, opposed to getting just 1 hour of playtime as the Vista’s allow, you get a whopping 1.5 hours.
In terms of sound quality, the Powerbeats Pro earbuds are powered by the Apple H1 headphone chip, which is the exact same one found in the 2nd generation AirPods. Less bass focused then previous Beats earbuds, these offer an overall sound quality that is second-to-none, making them pretty much neck and neck with the Jaybird Vista earbuds in this area.
The main downsidewith these earbuds is they’re not quite as comfortable as their competitor.
Recommendation
When it comes to wireless earbuds, both the Jaybird Vista and the Powerbeats Pro earbuds put up a good fight. In terms of sound quality, both models are phenomenal, and there is very little to separate them here.
The Jaybird Vista earbuds have a better design in my opinion and are more comfortable. But you will pay a little extra for them. The Beats Powerbeats Pro earbuds offer slightly better features such as the better fast-charge capacityand overall listening time. But, you may find them a little awkward to wear at first.
So, now you’ve got all the facts, the rest, is down to you…
